Winter Moscow - covered by snow and enigmatic - gathered abound improvised Christmas tree three pairs of lovers - three different generations and three epochs. Each pair has its own problems and scores to each other, as well as its own expectations. But all of them are united by love. Main scene is improvised Christmas bazaar. Three women of different ages, workers of the factory "Krasny Oktyabr", are sent to sell Christmas trees on the New Year's Eve. The basement room under the disco club near the bazaar is the place where they rest, talk and even watch TV. On the last day of the year they part going to their friends, but it appears that they have nowhere to go. They celebrate New Year just in the basement room. And each woman met her true love.
The film is an ironical town fairy tale as only in the tales there are always happy ends. But it is NEW YEAR when all should ends happily.
