Alla Ilyinichna Surikova, national artist of Russian Federation, director working in comedy movies, script writer, producer, author of book "Love from second glance" (Vagrius, 2002), author of the idea of kid's comedy film journal "Eralash" (1972), author of several documentary films, lecturer in the Institute for cinematographer re-qualification, author of idea and president of Festival of comedy films "Smile, Russia!"
Born on November 6, 1940 in Kiev. In 1965 graduated from Kiev State University, philological department, specialization of Russian language and literature, simultaneously studied mathematical linguistics. In 1972 completed the two-years Higher Course for script writers and film directors, course of the directors of kid's movies, class master Georgij Danelia. In 1974 got a diploma (excellent mark) with short (two parts) musical comedy for children "Lzhynka" . Since that, for last quarter of century witty and mischievous films of Alla Surikova please the spectators.

At the All-Union Festival of young cinematographers in Kiev "Lzhynka" was awarded with the prize for best director, at the Ukrainian Festival -with the prize for best director and best script.

USSR, A.Dovzhenko's film studio, by request of the State Committee for television and radio, 1975, 7 parts, TV film-concert of the Ukrainian folk dance ensemble (under guidance of P.P.Virsky).

- "VANITY OF VANITIES"
USSR, film studio Mosfilm. The Unit of comedy and musical films, 1979, color, wide format, 87 minutes, lyric comedy.
Award for best director at the Festival "Youth of Mosfilm" in 1979, Award of distributors, out- of-competition participation in the All-Union Film Festival in Ashkhabad, participation in the "Days of Mosfilm" in Yerevan, Leningrad and other cities. The film gathered more than 30 millions of spectators.

Award of spectators at the Festival "Youth of Mosfilm" in 1981, Award of distributors, 40 millions audience.
- "CHERCHEZ LA FEMME"
USSR, film studio Mosfilm, the Unit of TV-films, by request of the State committee for television and radio, 1982, bi-serial 135 minutes. Ironical detective based on the play of R.Toma.
During twenty years the film was more than 40 times shown by TV-channels.
- "SINCERELY YOURS..."
USSR, film studio Mosfilm, the Unit of comedy and music films, 1985, color, 86 minutes. Satiric comedy.
- "A MAN FROM CAPUCINS BOULEVARD"
USSR, film studio Mosfilm, the Unit of comedy and musical films, 1987, color, 99 minutes. Ironical comedy in the style of western.
The film gathered 60 millions of spectators. It was sold to 30 countries. Award at the Festival "Gold Duk" (Odessa) for "real picture of Wild West in wild Soviet film industry" , first place (together with Czechoslovakia film) at the 111th International Film Festival "Women in cinematography" (Los-Angeles, USA).
